Will my iPhone Glass Repair Still be Waterproof After Replacement?

waterproof iPhone glass

This is such a great question that I love to get asked by my customers!

One of the terrific additions to the Apple iPhone line-up as of the iPhone 7 is your device is now water resistant.  This doesn't mean that you can go deep sea diving with your device, but it can withstand some nasty little battles with water, such as your occasional dive in the toilet.  Let's be honest, we've all done it.

Most of us at one time or another have experienced that dreaded drop of our device and in turn, are in need of an iPhone glass repair.

One great question to ask is:

Will my iPhone still be water-resistant?

With the iPhone 7, 7 plus, 8, 8 plus, and iPhone X there is a layer of adhesive that sits between the chassis and glass frame that creates a seal to prevent water from entering the internals of your device.

When removing the shattered iPhone screen the adhesive becomes broken and usually worthless.  The proper repair on the device is to remove all of the old adhesives and apply a fresh new layer to the chassis of the iPhone.

This is what separates uBrokeiT from its competitors and makes us the best iPhone repair in Los Angeles!  We take the time and approach to make sure your device is as good as the day it came out of the box from Apple.
